Cary's Stonehaven Jewelry Gallery wins two AGTA Spectrum Awards
Stonehaven Jewelry Gallery in Cary has announced that owner Ron Lodholz has been recognized with two AGTA Spectrum Awards for his work in two categories. This year marks the 27th anniversary of the competition, which is hosted by the American Gem Trade Association.
The winning pieces, designed and crafted by Lodholz, included a 1.41-carat aquamarine women's ring set in platinum, which earned the Entry Platinum Honors Business/Day Wear Award; and 18-karat yellow and rose gold cufflinks featuring 10.96 carat cone-cut garnets with platinum suspensions, which earned the AGTA Spectrum Men's Wear third place award.
"I'm very proud of these awards and for the recognition that comes with them," Lodholz says. "At the end of the day, however, my joy comes from creating one piece of jewelry at a time that will make its unique owner feel special and treasured. My goal is that my designs tell a story about how one individual cherishes another, and that this story gets passed along amongst family, friends, and even strangers."
The awards competition was held Oct. 23-24 in New York City. Entries were judged on the basis of overall beauty and wearability, innovative design, effective use of materials, quality of gemstones, quality of workmanship, broad-base consumer appeal, and potential to generate positive publicity for natural colored gemstones. Spectrum Award categories included Bridal, Business/Day Wear, Classical, Evening and Men's Wear.
