Bida Manda Laotian Restaurant and Bar coming to downtown Raleigh
4/24/2012: .

The Downtown Raleigh Alliance has announce that Bida Manda Laotian Restaurant and Bar will be opening this summer. The business will lease space from Empire Properties at 222 S. Blount St. across from Moore Square in downtown Raleigh. Vansana Nolintha and his sister, Vanvisa, will run Bida Manda.

"The name of the restaurant is the Sanskrit ceremonial term for father and mother," says Vansana Nolintha. "We want to honor our parents in Laos, who taught us everything we know about people, food, and hospitality. Our belief is that Bida Manda will become a gathering space for our community, a venue to share our culture and above all else, a place to celebrate our exquisite yet unknown Laotian cuisine. Our downtown is evolving into a vibrant community. and we are grateful to take part in its progress and to contribute to its food and cultural diversity."
