Budget shortfall threatens Raleigh Rescue Mission's services
4/25/2012: .

The needs of the poor and homeless who come to the door of Raleigh Rescue Mission continue to grow. This increase in demand for services comes at a time of serious financial strain for the Raleigh Rescue Mission, which is facing a budget shortfall of $256,508 - threatening its services to the homeless.

"The mission has made structural cost changes and reduced expenses in order to tighten the gap in our budget shortfall. If our deficit continues to grow, we will be faced with cutting some of our core services to the homeless, and that's the last thing we want to do," says Lynn Daniell, Raleigh Rescue Mission's executive director. "It's in these hard economic times when we should be helping more people, not cutting back."

The organization currently provides shelter and supportive services to a total of 103 homeless men, women, and children each night. To donate online or for more information about Raleigh Rescue Mission, call (919) 828-9014, ext. 115, or visit www.raleighrescue.org
