Wake County Library makes several important announcements
The Wake County Library has announced several important pieces of news. First, its Wendell Community Library, located at 207 S. Hollybrook Road, will reopen this Saturday, May 5, at 10 a.m. following a three-month renovation that includes a new roof, HVAC system, wooden finishes and a more efficient layout. Additionally, the Green Road Community Library in Raleigh will close May 12 for a lengthy renovation. Enhancements will include those similar to the Wendell location. The library's adult book club will continue to meet in the Green Road Community Center adjacent to the library. To learn more, call (919) 790-3242.
At the Holly Springs Community Library, a new traveling exhibit, "Pride and Passion: The African American Baseball Experience," tells the story of black players and their role in shaping baseball over the years. The exhibition kicks off May 5. To learn more, call (919) 577-1660.
In honor of National Celebrate Seniors Month, several county libraries will offer programs of interest for seniors. Offerings begin May 2 and include everything from PC and Internet security to yoga and health, World War II, retirement planning, and geneaology.
