Books & Beer! is a new event series at Fearrington that will spotlight local authors and connect with readers who share an interest in books, beer and music.
Music and beer have been great partners at Roost, Fearrington’s seasonal beer garden with live music. Fearrington Village regularly hosts author events at McIntyre’s Books, one of the leading bookstores in the South. Now add all three, books, beer and music and you have Fearrington’s newest series; Books & Beer! The series will provide an opportunity to meet our local North Carolina authors in an informal and intimate setting, over beer and accompanied by great music. The authors will be invited to talk about their work, and books will be sold on site.
“Three of my greatest pleasures in life are; reading, drinking a tasty beer and hearing live music,”says Matt Mock, the former proprietor of the Cave and a very experienced bartender who developed the Books & Beer series and now works at Roost and McIntyre’s Books. “What could be better than a cold beer in one hand, a book in the other, and a casual, fun atmosphere that includes live music and enriching conversation?”
Books & Beer will be a series of casual, drop-in events through the fall. The first event will take place on Thursday, September 11th with Man v. Liver by Paul Friedrich and Neil Hinson.
