“Whether you’re looking for a nice light beer to pair with a big dinner or something you can drink all day out and about, this brew is hard to beat,” says Gizmo Head Brewer Eric Conner. The addition of fresh lime juice makes it the perfect complement to hot summer days.
Originally brewed as a small-batch one-off beer, Once Upon a Lime’s popularity pushed it to the year-round lineup. “A very simple recipe of corn, pilsner malt, West Coast citrus-forward hops, German lager yeast, and a little bit of lime juice in the secondary” results in a balanced, approachable, and endlessly drinkable beer.
“Mexican lagers are my go to for drinking in the North Carolina summer heat,” Eric says. “Everything about them is perfect for it, and the addition of lime juice really elevates the flavor and takes it to the top.”
