We could all use more socialization and more exercise. These local run clubs offer an opportunity to combine the two (often followed by a beer).
Monday
Morgan Street Run Club – Bend Bar, Raleigh, 6 p.m. – Part of the nOG Run Club, claiming the title of “the nation’s original pub run,” this group is also the oldest weekly run club in Raleigh.
GlenLake Run Club – 4140 Parklake Avenue, Raleigh, 6 p.m. – Log some miles at any pace, and cross the finish line at Crooked Hammock Brewery.
Fortnight Run Club – Fortnight Brewery Wake Forest, 6:15 p.m. – Run your choice of distance at your choice of pace along the Sanford Creek Greenway.
Tuesday
White Street Running Club – White Street Brewing Co., Wake Forest, 7 p.m. – Routes cover 3 or 5 miles at a variety of paces. Many weeks have an onsite food truck.
Wednesday
Blackbird Run Club – Blackbird Brewing, Wake Forest, 6 p.m. – Run or walk a variable length, then enjoy a beverage. It’s also Wine Wednesday, with three 5-ounce pours for $20.
Raleigh Brewing Run/Walk Club – Raleigh Brewing, 6:30 p.m. – Cover 3 to 4 miles at any pace with a group that welcomes strollers, dogs, and kids.
Thursday
Pony Run with Fleet Feet Raleigh & Morrisville – Ponysaurus Brewing, Raleigh, 6 p.m. – Choose a 3- or 5-mile route, then reward yourself with a beer.
Flying Penguins Run Club – Sneaky Penguin Brewing Company, Raleigh, 6 p.m. – Great for new runners! 2-, 3-, or 5-mile options, plus coaching from experienced runners.
Saturday
Oak City Run Club – Midtown Park, North Hills, Raleigh, 9 a.m. – “Runners welcome. Walkers valued. Community always.” at this beginner-friendly club that runs a 5K every Saturday morning. An optional bible study precedes the run at 8 a.m.
Sunday
Flying Penguins Run Club – Sneaky Penguin Brewing Company, Raleigh, noon – Great for new runners! 2-, 3-, or 5-mile options, plus coaching from experienced runners.
